About The Next Chapter
Supporting people to plan and navigate the transition into what's next.
What brought us here?
The Next Chapter exists for one reason: to help people design a meaningful, confident transition out of a full-time, work-focused life — and into a next chapter that feels energising, connected, and future-proof.
Elizabeth founded The Next Chapter after decades in organisational change, where she saw the same pattern everywhere: organisations invest heavily in developing people, but almost nothing in helping them transition out of the workplace. At the same time, individuals were quietly struggling with one of life’s biggest shifts — identity, purpose, relationships, finances, wellbeing — often without guidance, language, or support.
The Next Chapter was created to close that gap.
We developed the 7 F’s Framework, a practical, human-centred model that helps people think, plan, and communicate about retirement and life transitions in a structured, holistic, and genuinely empowering. It supports intergenerational conversations, strengthens family decision-making, and gives organisations a modern, respectful way to partner with their people through this critical stage of the employee lifecycle.
Today, The Next Chapter works with individuals, families, and organisations to build clarity, confidence, and capability — ensuring people don’t just retire from something, but move toward a next chapter that is purposeful, connected, and well-designed.

Elizabeth Fahey
Elizabeth is an organisation change and organisational development specialist, retirement coach, and founder of The Next Chapter — a development organisation specialising in supporting people to plan and navigate their next chapter.
Noticing that most retirement support focused on financial planning, and understanding the innate need for us to retain personal identity when workplace structures are removed, Elizabeth developed the 7 F's framework.
She is fascinated in the cultural obsession with youth and ageing, fascinated by global trends in older living, and committed to people making considered choices about their future.
