Life has many chapters.
Retirement was seen as an ending now we are seeing the transition to another chapter and with that comes opportunity.
How can we help?
The world of ‘retirement’ as we know it has changed. No longer do we work until we’re 60-65 and then stop. Our lives are more flexible, we’re living healthier lives for longer than ever before, we’re choosing to work and live differently.
This transition can be difficult for many as they face an uncertain future without the structure of a day to day work life.
The Next Chapter helps people plan for the transition to the next chapter to ensure they continue to live the fulfilled, productive lives they choose.
We do this in three ways – each utilizing our unique 7 F’s framework:
1
1:1 Collaboration
Planning early for your next chapter sets you up for success. Utilising the 7 F’s framework we work through, in a confidential series of sessions, the 7 key things you need to consider if you want to ensure a positive, fulfilled transition.
2
Organisations
Is your organisation looking to provide support to your employees or members? Perhaps you have some team members who are looking to transition out of full-time work and are considering what that might look like.
3
Online programme
Prefer to work alone and at your own pace? Our online programme (in development) allows you to follow the 7 F’s methodology to work in private at your own pace.

Curious about the 7 F’s?
Curious about the 7 F’s? It’s the framework we’ll be using in our collaboration sessions, our workshops and our online programme. The structure is influenced by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs plus research on the importance of purpose and goal setting for individual development.
It will take us through transitions and how we might manage them, what they feel like and how they impact us. We’ll explore our purpose and why it’s important, how we will spend our time, where we’ll live, whether we will work and in what capacity.
This framework provides the map for uncovering your best life.

About The Next Chapter
The Next Chapter was founded to support people’s transition out of a full-time work focused life into their Next Chapter at whatever age and stage they are considering this transition. With a background in organizational change and experience in supporting people’s transitions to new ways of working, I recognised that there is a shortage of support for those looking to transition outside of the workplace. The Next Chapter has developed the unique 7 F’s framework to guide in the design of what’s next.
What brought us here?
About Elizabeth Fahey
Elizabeth Fahey is an organisation change and organisational development specialist and founder of The Next Chapter, a development organisation specialising in supporting people to plan and navigate their next chapter into what we previously called retirement. Noticing that the majority of support for retirement was financial planning and understanding the innate need for us to retain our personal identity when the structures of the workplaces are removed Elizabeth developed the 7 F’s framework to guide and support people’s thinking and planning in the area of retirement.
Elizabeth is interested in the cultural obsession with youth and ageing. She is fascinated by the changing global trends in the area of older living and is committed to helping people live their best life at whatever stage they are at.
